Impaired Digestion

If your digestion is not working well, your whole life is affected, from “oopsie” moments at the dinner table to your immune system’s ability to keep you healthy. And many more health issues can be traced back to gut health than you might suspect. “Almost all our health concerns can be traced back to our belly. Ensure a healthy gut and the rest will take care of itself.” *

Efficient digestion not only provides us with the fuel we need for life, but is also largely responsible for a potent immune defense. If your stomach isn’t breaking down food well, the system downstream can’t work well either. Over-the-counter digestive aids are a short-term strategy that’s actually counter-productive to your gut and immune health, especially if used long-term.

Gastrointestinal symptoms associated with eating or with certain foods are clear indicators of gut dysfunction. Skin and cognitive issues may not be quite so obviously linked to your gut but are very often the consequence of a gut lining that’s in trouble. If your gut is “leaky,” your brain isn’t far behind.

My Approach

A careful, thorough look at your history and symptoms is always critical. Gut-specific testing can give us valuable information about the state of your gut flora  and any bacterial overgrowth or yeast that could be factors in your recovery. This is an area where identifying our targets and milestones helps us build a solid working plan to get you back to vibrant health.
